Raja Meru Verman 670 AD Established kingdom of Brahampura at Bharmour
Raja Sahila Verman 920 Built the town of Chamba on a plateau above the Ravi River at the insistence of his daughter, Champavati. The capital was moved to Chamba.
Raja Pratap Singh Verman 1559 Contemporary of the great Mogul king Akbar. During his tenure, Chamba became a tributary to the Mogul empire.

Raja Chattar Singh

1664-1690 Contemporary of Mogul King Aurangjeb. He defied Aurangjeg's orders to demolish all Hindu temples. To taunt Aurangjeb, he gilded the tower of the Lakshmi-Narayan temple in 1678.

Raja Ugar Singh 1720-1735 Near the end of his tenure, Chamba was set ablaze in a giant fire. He was blamed to have set the fire to thwart Dalel Singh from coming to power.

Raja Raj Singh 1764-1794 Great warrior; he won battles with the forces of Jammu in 1775, Basohli in 1782, and Kishtwar in 1784.
